Thank you for visiting my site and learning more about Canham Cove and the Wellbegood Witches.

My first ever World Book Token purchase was Mossflower by Brian Jacques. I've read voraciously since I was very young, and I was given a typewriter for my fifth birthday. The first story I ever wrote was The Owlets Club, nine whole pages in an Enid Blyton-style adventure.

I grew up with books like Lord of the Rings, Garth Nix's Old Kingdom (Sabriel changed my brain chemistry), The Worst Witch, and The Haunting of Alaizabel Cray. As I grew up, TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Supernatural, and Grimm were followed by True Blood, Discovery of Witches, and Half Bad.

My whole life has been about writing, whether that's getting lost in books or writing in a corporate environment, or my screenwriting career. I've also worked as Head of Development in the UK TV industry under the mentorship of a BAFTA-winning producer, and that only fuelled my passion for great storytelling even more.

I live in Yorkshire, with Whitby feeling like my second home (and first in my heart). My familiars are a smoky black, orange-eyed dollface Persian cat called Miguel, and an enthusiastic goofball of a golden retriever, Ivy.

MY POLICY ON AI USE

I am strongly against the use of generative AI in any works.

Gen-AI is built on the theft of creatives' work.

There is a use case for non-GenAI tools, such as spellcheck or tools which resize images to fit different platforms.

I do not use Gen-AI in my writing at any stage of the process. Any artwork or graphic design is either commissioned from real artists or done myself. This may mean I have purchased stock images from licensed libraries. I will never knowingly use Gen-AI but with the tech becoming increasingly advanced, it can be hard to spot.

As a result, and as proof that I am not a robot, I might mistakenly use a stock image that is not labelled as Gen-AI but could be. If you believe an image on any of my platforms is generative AI, please contact me on the form below with details and I will investigate and remove if necessary.
